Chubb AVA keys (often also branded Union) are unusual-looking brass keys common in padlocks and nightlatches. They’re fairly small and the cuts are made at a peculiar angle.
These keys are found in Union 1K42 padlocks, Union C-series ‘Conquest’ locks, Union 1K57 Hercules padlocks, and the Union 4L67E auto-deadlocking rimlock. They can be found up and down the UK and Ireland.
Most AVA keys don’t have AVA written on them. Sometimes they have a code on them starting with FB, e.g. FB23. Many have JMA CHU-4G, CHU-5G, Silca ACH or 5ACH4 written on. Many older keys will feature the word ‘Lumsden’ on one side.
We can make these keys for you from a few good photos of both sides of your key. All you need to do is to upload a couple of photos using the upload tool above, and we’ll do the rest.
Same-day dispatch on all Union AVA replacement keys if ordered by 3pm on a working day.
More about cutting Chubb keys from a photo
To some it may sound a little crazy, but at We Love Keys we can copy many keys just from a photo. The result is as good as a key that comes straight from the main Chubb/Union factory, thus avoiding the inaccuracy that can come from copying keys in the back of a shop.
A clever algorithm assesses and measures the photo you sent and translates the photo into the cuts on an actual AVA key. A computerised electronic key machine then makes the key.
“Brilliant to find a company that cuts a replacement key for an old lock from a couple of photos.” – Trustpilot
