We Love Keys is a trading name of 1st Metropolitan Locksmiths Ltd.
These terms and conditions apply to customers who are purchasing their keys and/or other goods online through our online key-cutting service.
By accessing and using this service, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. In addition, when using these particular services, you shall be subject to any posted guidelines or rules applicable to such services. Any participation in this service will constitute acceptance of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.
This site and its components are offered for informational purposes only; this site shall not be responsible or liable for the accuracy, usefulness or availability of any information transmitted or made available via the site, and shall not be responsible or liable for any error or omissions in that information.
The company reserves the right to change these conditions from time to time as it sees fit and your continued use of the site will signify your acceptance of any adjustment to these terms. You are therefore advised to re-read this statement on a regular basis.
Use of Branded Key Blanks
Wherever possible, keys will be cut on an original key blank, in other words an ABUS key will be cut on an ABUS-branded blank. This is not possible in all cases, however, and sometimes keys may look different to the way they are depicted on this website. Many ABUS keys, for instance, are produced with a plastic top. This plastic top will not be present on all keys, nor will the ABUS logo. The absence of the logo notwithstanding, the keys will work in the same way as a key made by the original manufacturer.
Accepted payment methods: we accept Visa and MasterCard transactions, as well as payment by PayPal. Items will only be ordered, fabricated or shipped once funds have cleared.
Payments take place in our online payment facility.
Payments are made in pounds sterling (£).
Refund and Returns Policy
Refunds: in the event that a product is faulty or that a key doesn’t work through no fault of the customer’s, we will do our utmost to ensure that any errors are corrected. Failing this, we can issue a full or partial refund, depending on the circumstances. We cannot offer refunds for orders in which the customer has quoted an incorrect key code number.
We cannot be held responsible for any collateral damage (e.g. lockouts, damaged locks etc.) due to non-working keys, and any refund will extend only as far as the full amount paid to us.
Returns: Most goods are custom goods (e.g. replacement keys for specific locks) and cannot be returned. In some circumstances a return of goods may be possible. Normally non-custom products can be returned within 30 days of purchase, provided the item is still in its original packaging, unopened. Returns should be sent to our head office address. We cannot be responsible for non-delivery of returned items.
Since most of what we sell is made to order, cancellation is not always possible. If a customer wishes to cancel their order, we will do our utmost to stop the order before it goes into production. If it is too late to cancel the fabrication of their order, then the customer will be liable to pay up to the full amount for the items.
Delivery & Shipping Policy
Once the wares are ready and payment has been made, we will post items as soon as possible. In most cases, this will be arranged the same day, however we cannot guarantee this.
Most keys can be cut and posted within 2 working days of receipt of order (most often on the same day), and most non-key products can be posted on the same day, too. However, some keys are manufactures externally (on occasion in Germany) and may take longer to be supplied. Similarly, depending on stock levels, some products may not be shipped immediately. We will do our utmost to keep you informed in these cases.
Within the UK, Royal Mail first class post will normally arrive the working day following the day the item was posted. The same applies for signature deliveries. Special Delivery is guaranteed by Royal Mail to arrive before 1pm the following working day.
It is the responsibility of the customer to provide us with a correct delivery address. We cannot be liable for items delivered incorrectly by Royal Mail or any other delivery service.
Once an item goes to the post, we cannot guarantee receipt. Any delivery services will run using the standard guarantees offered by the service provider (in most cases Royal Mail).
Our site contains a number of links to other websites and online resources that are not owned or controlled by We Love Keys.
We Love Keys collects limited pieces of personal information from customers (names, telephone numbers, addresses etc.). These are used only internally, for our records. We do not supply these details to any third party.
We may use your personal information within We Love Keys: (1) to provide you with the services and products you request or that have been ordered; (2) to answer questions about our services, billing, payment methods or use of our website; (3) to process or collect payments for our services; (4) to conduct customer surveys; and (5) to contact you about the products and services that we offer.
We will not disclose any personal information to any third party (excluding our contractors to whom we may provide such information for the limited purpose of providing services to us and who are obligated to keep the information confidential), unless (1) you have authorised us to do so; (2) we are legally required to do so; and/or (3) it is necessary to protect our property rights related to this website. We also may share aggregate, non-personal information about website usage with unaffiliated third parties. This aggregate information does not contain any personal information about our users.
